Your Restart

Published: Jul 24, 2020

I don’t hit the restart button on my laptop nearly as often as I should. There are just way too many tabs open and my laptop often slows down causing me to be frustrated and less efficient than I hope to be!

I was recently looking at this little RESTART button on my laptop, and I realised how essential this sometimes seemingly insignificant function is.
Discovering word definitions is one of my favourite things to do.  To me, it’s like amplifying the Amplified Bible Version (if that makes any sense at all) So, of course, I looked at the definition of this particular word: R E S T A R T

Restart or Crash!

I have learnt that the rebooting of a computer is usually necessary after it malfunctions and or crashes. Rebooting allows the computer to RESTART and get back to working normally. In essence, and I quote: “when you restart your computer, you flush out all the random, unimportant, and temporary data bogging down your device” (quoting: www.it.clas.ufl.edu)

Locating your Restart when your heart becomes cluttered and your mind loses focus…

I have also learnt that life with all its fluff can get one’s heart pretty clogged from time to time. When my heart becomes cluttered, my mind loses focus. At this point, my goals become unclear and I go about my days being busy but not productive or fruitful.
If you can relate, you know it’s time to simply allow yourself to press your internal RE-START button.

How to locate your Restart

Or simply put: How do you and I restart?
There are two ways to look at this little word: RESTART…
  • You can choose to see it as trying to get all systems up and running just so that you can continue the never-ending cycle of the hamster wheel.
Or
  • Choose to rest and learn to attain renewal for transformation

How to Restart

I am learning that my RESTART is in the REST, and in this REST, I Attain Renewal for Transformation! My rest is in who I am in Jesus Christ and Who He is in me and for today, I rest my heart in knowing that I am His child.

God invites us into this rest to give us access to this transformational power! He teaches our hearts to be confident as we encounter the greatness of His faithfulness.

Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. ~ Lamentations 3:23 (nlt)
